Man dies trapped under overturned golf cart

The body of an elderly Fayette County man was discovered near his home early Monday afternoon pinned under a golf cart.

Frank Vines, 88, of 110 Scott Boulevard near the intersection of Tyrone and Ellison roads, was later pronounced dead, officials said.

Neighbors discovered the cart, which had gone down a ravine into a wooded area, and reported it to 911, officials said. EMS officials said Vines did not have any visible injuries, but he may have suffered from a medical problem that led to him being incapacitated, according to law enforcement officials.

Although no foul play is suspected, the Fayette County Sheriff?s Office will conduct a routine death investigation, a spokesman said.
