Watchdog: 3,600 complaints over naked prince pics

LONDON (AP) ? A press watchdog says it has received some 3,600 complaints over The Sun's decision to publish nude photos of Britain's Prince Harry.

The tabloid was the only national newspaper to carry the pictures, which first appeared online and quickly became an international talking point.

They captured the third in line to Britain's throne frolicking in the nude with an unidentified woman after what was alleged to have been a game of strip billiards in his Las Vegas hotel room.

Royal officials argued that the photos were a breach of the prince's privacy, but the officials weren't among those who'd filed complaints with Britain's Press Complaints Commission.

That makes it unlikely any action will be taken against The Sun, which said it published the photos in the public interest.

7 Traits of Entrepreneurial Baby Boomer Women by Amy Grossman

by Amy Grossman
Business Consultant

The first wave of Baby Boomer women, now in their late 50s and?mid 60s, are evaluating the idea of striking out on their own as entrepreneurs. Many are looking for an ?encore? career where they can pursue what they care about and generate an income for the second half of life.

Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines an entrepreneur as a person ?who organizes, manages, and assumes the risks of a business or enterprise.?

Since job opportunities can become more limited at this life stage, starting a business with limited risk can make sense. It?s not for everyone. Many women in midlife who become inspired to take an entrepreneurial path have 7 traits in common. This holds whether they plan to launch a business that grows to be big, or they plan to keep it small - possibly as a solo-entrepreneur and home-based.

1) Autonomy
Entrepreneurs have a strong desire for autonomy. Women at midlife often lose patience playing by corporate rules and want to call their own shots and put their own values first.

2) Resilience
Entrepreneurs have the ability to bounce back from setbacks. It takes resilience to get through the roadblocks that will inevitably show up. At midlife and beyond, women have learned to be resilient as they?ve weathered life?s ups and downs.

3) Initiative
Entrepreneurs are self-starters. The most successful entrepreneurs also keep the momentum going after the initial burst of energy.

4) Confidence
Entrepreneurs believe in themselves and get others to believe in them too. They have the confidence to find the resources they need and the ability to ask for help and support.

5) Intuitive
Entrepreneurs have good business instincts. They use left-brain rational thinking to analyze problems, but they also trust their intuition, which is often correct. Women tend to trust their intuition in business more often than men.

6) Decisive
Entrepreneurs are action oriented. They make decisions and take the actions required to get them to their desired results. Midlife women have had a lifetime of experience to fine-tune their decision-making ability.

7) Connects
Entrepreneurs build relationships. They build networks and thrive on seeing opportunities for connections for mutual benefit. At midlife, women have well-developed networks, which is an advantage in starting and sustaining a business.

This is not the definitive list, but you might find its perspective helpful. For fun, rate yourself on each trait and then answer the question: ?How entrepreneurial are I??

One common theme of women at midlife is the desire to create greater meaning in their work and their lives.

Indianapolis Web Design & Internet Marketing | John Fisher ...

web design indianapolisThe web is a big place and it can be challenging to design a website that meets the demands of prospective clients? expectations and, at the same time, have the online presence suited to help search engines recognize your web pages as relevant for what you have to offer.? There are several components to having a strong web presence and leveraging the web to generate more business.? Here are a few thoughts that might help you with your current efforts:

Website Design ? A business website carries the burden of accomplishing many goals:? making a strong first impression, providing a positive user experience, providing relevant content, well organized site architecture, encouraging website visitors to take an action, lead generation, etc.? These are also some of the benefits of redesigning a website and eliminating the aged look & layout your current site might have.

A great website design is part of the foundation of the best internet marketing strategy.? Web design in Indianapolis and Muncie is at the core of Fusework Studios? business.? If you?re considering a website redesign we?ll be happy to provide you with recommendations and a cost estimate.? You can browse some of our work in our web design portfolio.

Content Marketing ? After creating a new website and establishing a foundation for your online presence, the next challenge is getting your business website found online by prospective customers and clients.? Regardless of what a site can do, why it exists or how great it looks, if no one visits it, the best website design will be of no value.

The content of a web page plays a significant role in the likelihood of that web page being discovered.? On-page content can exist in different forms, for example:

  • Text-based content:? If a web page doesn?t include the keywords and phrases that people looking for your products and services type into a search engine, that page isn?t likely to be considered relevant for those keywords and phrases by search engines.? As a result, the search engines are not likely to rank that page well compared to your competitors?.? Among other things, include keywords and phrases in the text of a web page that that page is the most relevant for and that you want that page to rank well for. ?It?s important to both website visitors and search engines.
  • Visual content:? Infographics and online video can both be beneficial to getting your website found online.? If the subject matter of an infographic or video is of value and interest to your site visitors, they?re more likely to share and talk about it on their own sites or social media sites (e.g.; Facebook, Twitter & Google+).? When this happens it can result in more traffic to your website.? It can also result in search engines seeing more websites linking to your web pages which can cause the search engines to consider those pages more valuable and important than your competitors? web pages.
  • Blogging to generate leads:? Blogging is by far one of the most powerful means of getting your website discovered.? Just as a great website is at the foundation of your online presence, consistent and thoughtful blogging is at the core of your internet marketing strategy.? Blogging provides an opportunity to showcase your expertise as a business to website visitors while at the same time giving you a chance to use the keywords and phrases that you want the search engines to recognize your site as relevant for.? If you?re having trouble coming up with blog post ideas or trouble just finding the time to write blog posts, Fusework?s staff can help you with your business blog writing.

Local Search Engine Optimization ? A website redesign and blog content aren?t the only components to a well-rounded internet marketing plan.? For example, research to determine what your target audience actually types into a search engine and the terminology they use is essential to get the most out of your website?s on-page content.? Good website architecture and organization of your web pages can impact whether a website visitor has a positive experience on the site; it can influence how a search engine perceives your site?s pages relative to your competitors?.? There?s no shortage of factors that can influence a website visitor?s impression of your business or a search engines view of your site?s relevance.

Optimizing your website and its content is a critical and ongoing piece to internet marketing success.? If you?re not sure if you?re getting the most from your website and online marketing efforts, contact us and request a website and internet marketing audit.

Buttery, Crunchy Summah Squash Casserole - Belmont, MA Patch

"A good marriage is like a casserole, only those responsible for it really know what goes in it." ~Anonymous

We are still overloaded with summer squash over here in Duggan Valley. Looking for new ways to cook it, I decided to alter a Thanksgiving favorite of mine, the broccoli casserole. I have to say that the broccoli version is better than the squash one, but both are really good. Since it's been so hot I waited to cook this until the sun went down and then reheated it for dinner the next night. I think giving the flavors time to meld makes it even better.

Summer Squash Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups summer squash, peeled and diced (about 3 medium)
  • 1 cup chopped red onion
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar Jack cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10-3/4 ounces) condensed low sodium cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup crushed crackers (saltine, wheat or Ritz-I would recommend Ritz)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Directions:

  • In a large skillet heat the olive oil over medium high heat.
  • Saute summer squash and onion in oil until tender.
  • Drain.
  • In a large bowl, combine the vegetable mixture, cheese, soup, sour cream and salt.
  • Transfer to a 8x8 glass baking dish sprayed with Pam.
  • Combine cracker crumbs and butter.
  • Sprinkle over vegetable mixture.
  • Bake, uncovered, at 350? for about 40 minutes or until bubbly.

Enjoy!

Agent Snapshot: D'Evereaux Baum-Moore, New Home Specialist ...

d'evereaux-baum-moore-houston-real-estate-katy-new-home-specialist-realtor-housing

Growing up, what did you want to be?

That moment at closing when keys are handed over and my happy clients are yelling, crying and jumping up and down. It makes my job wonderful to know that I helped someone achieve the goal of homeownership.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I try to be different and very up front with people and think outside the box. I specialize in new construction; after working for several builders, I have great construction knowledge.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
I would have to say that the most difficult for me is trying to understand why some people don?t really work hard enough to repair their credit or listen to advice on how to do it so that I can truly help them get into a home. On the other hand, some people do work hard at it and listen to advice, and then we get to that closing table and that makes it so worth it!
